9 Day Victoria Falls, Hwange & Matopos National Park Safari



Day 1 to 2: Arrive Victoria Falls and transfer to Batonka Guest Lodge for 2 nights

On arrival in Victoria Falls you will be met and transferred to Batonka Guest Lodge. This beautiful small lodge at the Victoria Falls manages to retain a relaxed informal atmosphere whilst also maintaining impeccable standards. Situated only 2 km from the Victoria Falls themselves its a great choice for a few days of relaxation. Enjoy a free afternoon walking round Victoria Falls town or stay within the grounds of the lodge itself by taking a dip in the pool and relaxing in the gardens. You will also have the whole of the following day to relax and enjoy all that Victoria Falls has to offer.

 

Day 3 to 5: Transfer from Victoria Falls to Khulu Bush Camp (Hwange Nationalpark) for 3 nights

Your African safari adventure begins today as you are collected this morning from Batonka and transferred to Khulu Bush Camp. This is about a 2.5 hour drive.

This Lodge is located just outside Hwange National Park. It is only about 15 minutes’ drive from the main park entrance gate making it very easy to go into the national park to do game drives. In addition, they have their own private concession that they can also do game drives in. Khulu Bush Camp offers superb value for money and an authentic safari experience at an affordable price. They are famous for their resident Presidential herd of elephants which are often seen in the area or even in the grounds of the lodge! And the waterhole that can be seen from the lounge area and most rooms attracts many animals. The game viewing here is especially good in the July-October dry season.

You will enjoy the next 3 days doing morning & afternoon game activities. These include game drives & walking safaris.

 

Day 6 to 8: Transfer from Khulu Bush Camp to Amalinda Lodge (Matopos National Park) for 3 nights

You will now be transferred from Khulu Bush Camp to Amalinda Lodge at Matopos National Park, a journey time of approximately 5 hours.

Nestled in the private concession of the Matobo Hills National Park the camp is in a spectacular setting amongst the ancient boulders of the hills. It’s a unique lodge with rooms that have been cleverly built into the rocks.

Amalinda Lodge offers 9 thatched rooms with the interior appearance of a cave.

Activities at Amalinda Lodge include visits to Cecil John Rhodes' grave, tours to view San Bushmen paintings, rhino tracking, bird watching and walking in the Matobo Hills.

Ending your trip to Zimbabwe in Matopo at Amalinda Lodge will be a wonderful way to compliment your safari.

 

Day 9: Transfer from Amalinda Lodge to Bulawayo airport

Today will be the last day of your tour and you will be transferred from Amalinda Lodge to Bulawayo airport for your onward flight home. Bulawayo airport is 60 Km away from the camp.
