Chobe National Park Riverfront

The Chobe National Park is one of Africa’s finest game sanctuaries. Situated in the far north of Botswana, Chobe encompasses a wide variety of diverse habitats offering extreme contrasts and is home to a breath-taking variety of animals and birds.

Savute Chobe National Park

Savute needs no introduction - Many of Botswana’s famous wildlife documentaries have been filmed here and is renowned for its lion prides that bring down elephants. The Savute Channel is a vivid contrast between wet and dry ecosystems.

Okavango Delta & Moremi Game Reserve

The Okavango is a unique ecosystem, an inland delta situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world – the Kalahari basin. This wetland lies like an oasis in an otherwise inhospitable landscape. Where land and delta meet, a mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests and lagoons provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat in which a multitude of animals and birds flourish. This wetland is one of the natural wonders of the world, and is a fragile ecosystem that remains one of the world’s least spoilt and most beautiful wildernesses, and is home to various unique species e.g. sitatunga antelope and red lechwe. The Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the eastern corner of the Okavango Delta. Moremi is one of the most beautiful and varied reserves found on the African continent with huge concentrations of wildlife and incredible scenery. The reserve consists of both swamped areas e.g. Xakanaxa, and dry-land areas e.g. Khwai.

A typical day on a Participation Safari

An early wake up means packing up your tent and luggage (a head lamp helps) and taking the tent to the vehicle for packing. By this time the guide and cook would have prepared your breakfast. After breakfast it will just be getting light and the game will be moving around. After washing the dishes and packing up the truck you will be off on your morning game drive or transfer. If you are transferring to another camp you would want to be there around lunchtime. Once arriving in the camp, lunch will be served and you erect the tents, shower and the loo.

Once everyone is settled and the camp is up, you depart on an afternoon game drive and return to camp just after sunset. Relax around the campfire listening to the sounds of the night. Dinner should be ready by about 8pm and it is served under the stars, maybe with a lion roaring in the distance or a little Scops owl in a tree nearby.
