Tanzania is one of our favourite countries in Africa, offering some of the world´s greatest outdoor activities and stunning Safaris. It is located in East Africa, bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west; and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the south. The country's eastern border lies on the Indian Ocean.
Tanzania offers the most awesome combination of scenery, wildlife and culture as well as wonderful tropical beaches on the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia. To the north are the world famous Safari Parks of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater whilst to the south and west are the superb fly-in reserves of Ruaha, Selous, Katavi and Mahale, Mahale being perhaps on of the best locations for primate interaction in Africa.
Although the most popular Safari areas can have high visitor numbers in the July-October peak season it is possible to avoid the crowds even then. Away from the core areas Tanzania still feels truly wild, remote, and unexplored.
