Zimbabwe Passes Tourism VAT Statutory Instrument

The Zimbabwe Ministry of Finance has amended the finance act and VAT on accommodation is now applicable as of 16th January 2015.

Our partner WILD HORIZONS is in the process of amending the lodge rates, applying VAT on the accommodation portion of the daily package rate only. They will be distributing these soon and they will supersede any previous lodge rates issued.
 
All lodge bookings made prior to 24th of January 2015 will be honoured at the VAT exclusive rates, any new bookings from the 25th January onwards will be at the new VAT inclusive rate.
 
VAT on transfers, tours and activities remains zero rated.  Therefore the VAT exclusive rates for tours, transfers and activities issued on the 15th January 2015 will remain in effect.
