Zimbabwe – No VAT on tourism related activities

Posted on 14th January 2015

Good news for the tourism industry in Zimbabwe: The 2015 Finance Act was passed this week without any amendments, which in effect means Tourism related products remain Zero rated in Zimbabwe. Our partner Wild Horizons will therefore not be charging VAT on tourism related activities.

Wild Horizons will be reissuing 2015 rates which are VAT exclusive.

Any bookings made prior to the announcement will be invoiced at VAT exclusive rates. Any bookings that have been paid for will be entitled to a refund of the VAT portion.

In the event that the Government passes the relevant legislation removing the zero-rating status, all partners and clients will be notified.

There has been some confusion over the introduction of VAT but we and Wild Horizons assure you all that we are committed to offering value for money products at the best possible rate and look forward to a prosperous 2015.
