Zarafa Camp: Our View

Zarafa Camp is situated in the 135.000 ha Selinda concession and overlooks the Zarafa Lagoon in the eastern part of the Selinda Reserve in Northern Botswana. The camp is located close to the Savute Lagoon and source of the channel, within sight of hippos and crocodiles in and near the surrounding water, as well as being home to a huge variety of birds.

Zarafa Camp is very exclusive and caters for just eight guests, ensuring each guest enjoys first class hospitality and privacy. The large walk-in tents are built on raised wooden platforms and have adjoining bathrooms with full facilities. The dining area at Zarafa Camp is in a large open-sided central tent (weather permitting) and the bar is set out in the open air around a tree. There are wonderful panoramic views from all areas of the camp.

Activities include game drives in the early morning, afternoon and at night, with good chances of sightings of day and night active wildlife. There are also short nature walks on offer with an experienced guide. Boat rides are on offer, but seasonal and water level dependent. Siesta time is best spent in the sunken hide at the edge of the waterhole, watching the wide variety of plains game and predators that arrive to drink.

Wildlife includes elephant, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion and an amazing amount of birdlife. Further you may extend your stay here to join the Selinda Walking Trail. This Walking Trail, a superb two-day walk between Tswene and Mokoba Trails Camps in the Linyanti Concession, is a wonderful add-on whilst staying at either Selinda or Zarafa Camp.

Zarafa Camp is booked on an all- inclusive basis with accommodation, all meals and drinks (no premium brands), activities and laundry service. Children as of 6 years are welcome here on request.
