Shinde Footsteps: The Details
Shinde Footsteps Camp is a charming and intimate camp mostly dedicated to walkings safaris, and offering excellent guiding. This is a really unique experience in the Okavango Delta, and so worthwhile for those who want something different.
Despite having four tents, Shinde Footsteps accommodates a maximum of six guests at any given time, ensuring an exclusive safari experience for couples, small groups, or families. The four simple yet comfortable canvas tents on decks each comprise an ensuite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower, porcelain wash basin and wifi. Guests can choose a twin, double, or family tent with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
Shinde Footsteps also offers the very unique so called 'Young Explorers safari' - a specially designed programme which offers families the opportunity to discover the wonders of the African wilderness – together. Each family has the use of the Shinde Footsteps Camp, including a professional guide, personal chef, waiter, housekeeper and dedicated Mokoro guides. This allows guests to explore the bush at their leisure, while never losing sight of the fact that being in the wilderness is also about having fun!
The Young Explorers’ emphasis is on learning how to track game – both on foot and in 4×4 safari vehicles. Children partake in many fun and educational activities: making small animal traps, learning how to start a fire from nothing more than two sticks, recognising different animal spoor, identifying a range of birds, trying their hand at poling a Mokoro (subject to water levels), driving a game drive vehicle, fishing, and shooting an air rifle at tin cans. At the end of a fun filled safari all 'young explorers' receive a Young Explorers certificate, t-shirt and cap. ... a perfect and truly memorable family holiday.
