Little Maru: Our View

Little Maru is located in the NG32 private concession of the Southern Okavango Delta. This camp is a great fit for travellers who prefer small, personal camps where you quickly feel at ease. With only three tents, the atmosphere is quiet and unhurried, and it genuinely feels like you are sharing the Delta with just a handful of people. The camp’s position on a permanent lagoon is a real highlight - you have constant movement in front of you, whether it’s hippos in the water, elephants coming to drink, or birdlife moving through the reeds. It adds a steady sense of “being in the Delta” even when you’re simply sitting on your veranda.

Little Maru: The Details

Little Maru is set in a peaceful section of the Okavango Delta, where permanent water meets open floodplains. The camp is small and easy to navigate, with a central dining area, a small pool, and tents spaced out for privacy. The tents themselves are comfortable, with proper beds, hot showers, and big gauze windows that keep the room bright and airy.

Days start early with a coffee before heading out on a game drive or, when water levels allow, a mokoro trip through the channels. Wildlife sightings vary, but elephants, hippos, lechwe, and many bird species are common. Predators appear depending on the season and movements in the area.

Back at camp, meals are relaxed and informal, often shared with your guide or other guests. In the evenings, the fire in the boma becomes the gathering point for chatting about sightings and planning the next day. The hospitality is warm and uncomplicated -  the team makes you feel at home without being intrusive.
