Little Sable

Little Sable: Our View
Little Sable is a small and authentic camp overlooking expansive grassland. It is in the 200,000 ha Khwai Private Reserve, a private concession with very diverse habitats that teems with wildlife. We were lucky to see leopard, lion, cheetah and cub, as well as wild dogs when we were there last! We also saw elephant, hippo, red lechwe, waterbuck, zebra and giraffe amongst others. The concession is shared with only 3 other lodges from Natural Selection… less vehicle more wildlife!
The communal area is under thatched roof and very airy. It has a fire pit, a swimming pool and various sitting areas. The meals are taken around a communal table together with the other guests, the manager, and the guides. The food is safari simple, good, and there’s plenty of it! The bar has a good selection of drinks. There’s also a permanent tea and coffee station in the main area, from which the guests can help themselves throughout the day.
The tents are spacious and cosy. Sliding doors, made out of mosquito net, open onto a small veranda. The tents are very comfortable and keep the authentic safari feeling without unnecessary luxury trappings.

Little Sable: The Details
The staff are very friendly and come from the local community. Not being ‘city’ people, they are not too used to foreigners and are a little bit shier than at some other Okavango Delta camps. The guides are very friendly too, and knowledgeable.
The private airstrip is about 45 minutes from the camp, at game drive speeds.
What stands out for us about this camp is the excellent open view and the relaxed back-to-basics safari atmosphere. We love the simplicity of this camp!
