Primate Lodge Kibale

Primate Lodge Kibale: Our View
Primate Lodge Kibale is a luxury lodge tucked away deep in the Kibale Forest, right next door to the starting point for Chimpanzee tracking excursions and the famous Chimpanzee Habituation program, which enables visitors to accompany researchers into the forest to track and view Chimpanzees for a full day. The Chimpanzee groups involved in the Habituation program are less accustomed to human presence than those visited on regular primate tracking excursions, which can lead to exciting and challenging tracking and viewing!
Each of Primate Lodge’s nine, spacious, en-suite luxury cottages, are secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural ‘living in nature’ feel. Each luxury cottage has 2 double beds or 1 king size bed (with draped mosquito nets), a sitting area with two comfortable armchairs, a reading table, and an adjoining large veranda with beautiful views of the surrounding forest.
Apart from their 9 luxury cottages, Primate Lodge Kibale also offers 7 mid-level forest cottages, en-suite with spacious bathrooms, 2 twin size beds or 1 king size bed (with mosquito nets), lounge chairs and a spacious veranda overlooking the rainforest.
The lodge’s main restaurant serves international and local breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in a charming, seated setting. Another restaurant offers take-away international and local meals from an à la carte menu. The lodge has a large dining terrace, a bar and a sheltered lounge area with a small library.

Primate Lodge Kibale: The Details
For the more adventurous at heart, Primate Lodge Kibale offers a secluded Sky Tree House which is en suite and about 200 meters into the forest. Built in a gigantic Celtis tree and elevated 10 meters above the ground, the Sky Tree House overlooks an elephant meadow and has excellent views over the forest canopy where one can regularly sight black and white Colobus Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, sometimes Chimpanzee, and even the occasional Forest Elephant! The Sky Tree House bedroom is fitted with a bunk bed providing comfortable sleeping for a maximum of two persons on separate beds. Guests dine at the lodge dining room but need to be escorted to/from the Sky Tree House before dusk and after dark.
Primate Lodge Kibale's popular double storied ‘Elephant Banda’ (Honeymoon Cottage) comprises an upstairs bedroom which extends out over a large, elevated thatched wooden deck/veranda which seems to extend right into the forest canopy. The deck is perfect for evening relaxation with a drink as the sun’s rays slip through the tall forest trees. It is also an ideal spot for private room-service dining. Enjoy either breakfast or lunch in the company of Black and White Colobus Monkeys or Red Colobus Monkeys that frequent the surrounding trees. A candlelit dinner is also offered. The ground floor room of the Elephant Banda comprises a spacious living room that can sleep an extra family member, as well as a separate shower room and toilet. The Elephant Banda is secluded deep in the forest and offers complete privacy. This cottage is popular with honeymooners, for anniversaries, and with others who enjoy their privacy.
