Jacana Camp

Jacana Camp: Our view
Jacana Camp is a true water camp, situated about 25 kilometers west of Mombo, outside the Moremi Game Reserve on the Jao flats in the heart of Botswana’s renowned Okavango Delta.
Each of the five Meru-style tents have adjoining enclosed, roofless bathrooms on a raised wooden deck overlooking the surrounding floodplains. The main dining area is on an elevated wooden deck between two magnificent sycamore fig trees and surrounded by dense wild date palms. Downstairs, there is a cozy pub and lounge, with an area to sit around an open fire under the stars.
From September to May, as the floodwaters recede, game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles are available (depending on water levels) during the day. The camp is set in one of the most densely populated wetland areas for Sitatunga and Red Lechwe, but game concentrations depend on water flow and volume and change from season to season. Jacana Camp is a truly water-oriented camp and offers mokoro and walking safaris all year round.
Jacana Camp is inclusive of accommodation, all meals and drinks (no premium drinks), activities and laundry service. Children as of 6 years are welcome here on request.

Jacana Camp: The Details
Located on a beautiful island in the Jao Concession in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Jacana is a typical Delta camp. Surrounded by seasonally-inundated floodplains and papyrus swamps, Jacana has five en-suite Meru-style tents, built on raised wooden decks to take advantage of the views of the broad channels in front.
Being a ‘water camp,’ Jacana Camp offers primarily water activities with game drives during the summer months – dependent on water levels and time of year.
