Sedia Hotel : Our View

Located a short 5-minute drive from Maun Airport, this modest 3-star hotel in Maun has recently had a refurbishment of its hotel rooms and is a welcome start or finish to any safari.

Sedia Hotel has 24 double or twin rooms, 2 one-bedroom cottages and 6 two-bedroom cottages.  The rooms overlook the lush gardens and pool area while the cottages face the Thamalakane River. There is also a camp site located a short distance from the main hotel area. The rooms at Sedia Hotel are fresh and new with great air conditioning for those hot summer nights and heat in the cooler winter months.  The double rooms have large king size beds so you really can spread out and languish before continuing your journey.  The showers at Sedia Hotel have great water pressure - perfect for an after safari shower! The hotel rooms also have private patios.

The entrance and reception are rather plain but clean and airy, and the staff are welcoming.  The gardens, fantastic pool, and outside restaurant area which is partly shaded by a large Jacaranda tree and vines, are wonderful.  For cat lovers, there are a couple of really friendly domestic felines who are either at reception ready to welcome you or lounging in the gardens.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu is delightful, homely, tasty and very popular with guests, as well as the local Maun residents.
We found the continental breakfast a bit simple with not a huge amount of variety, but the a la carte hot breakfast was good.

Sedia Hotel can be booked on a bed and breakfast or half board basis.

Sedia Hotel: The Details

What we really liked Sedia Hotel were the gardens which attract plenty of birds as well as the super king size beds and powerful air conditioning.  The staff were ever so friendly and happy to help with all requests including the organisation of activities in the area.  The pool and terrace area is lively and fun with families either picnicking on the lawns or enjoying the public areas.
