Moremi Game Reserve is a hour and half drive away offering spectacular game viewing opportunities. The Delta is actually almost on the doorstep of Thamalakane River Lodge – a 45 minute drive will take you to the Boro Poler station where you are able to participate in a traditional Mokoro trip, water levels permitting.

Thamalakane River Lodge enjoys a wonderful location which lends itself to relaxation around their pool and on their private patios enjoying the plentiful birds and spectacular sunsets.

Thamalakane River Lodge: The Details

Thamalakane River lodge is one of our top two accommodation choices for staying in and near Maun. The Thamalakane River is visited by an ever changing array of water fowl, local and migrant upland birds, and even the occasional hippo! This is a peaceful and relaxing oasis that is a delightful place to come home to after a day spent exploring...and one that you will have to drag yourself away from when you have to leave.

The on site restaurant serves good a la carte and buffet style meals from an ever changing menu although service can require some attention. Dusk is spectacular, with the sun setting the river ablaze as is slowly dips behind the trees.

Children of all ages are welcome here. The lodge has sight-seeing and safari day-trip packages available with pick up and drop off at the Lodge.
