Chitabe Lediba Camp: Our View

Chitabe Lediba is a luxury tented camp, near to and in the same concession as its  sister camp, Chitabe Camp.

The main difference between the two camps is that Chitabe Lediba is smaller and more intimate than Chitabe Camp, and aimed at catering for small groups and families.

Chitabe Lediba is situated in a private concession in the south east of the Okavango Delta, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve and requires just 20 minutes by charter flight to access from Maun. The Chitabe concession is a combination of open floodplains, wooded islands, and lagoons - which attracts a wide variety of wildlife.

The wildlife concentration in the Chitabe concession is remarkable, including many rare and endangered species. The birdlife is also prolific! African Hawk Eagle, Ground Hornbill, Scarlet Chested Sunbird, Red Billed Hornbill, Gabar Goshawk, and Red billed Francolin are all to be found here, depending on the season. Cheetah, Wild Dog, Honey Badger, Aardwolf and Bat Eared Fox are among the more unusual and endangered species found in this area.

Accommodation at Chitabe Lediba consists of five spacious and luxuriously appointed East African style tents (including two family tents) that have en-suite facilities with flush toilets, as well as a shower and basin with hot and cold running water. Each room is raised on a deck and also has an outdoor shower, which overlooks the floodplain. The family tents can sleep four pax and consist of two bedrooms, both en suite, with a shared balcony. There is a main dining area and lounge connected to the tents by wooden walkways. The communal swimming pool can be a welcome relief from the heat!
