Lolebezi

Lolebezi: Our View
Lolebezi is the latest addition to the African Bush Camps safari offering in Zambia. This spectacular luxury lodge is set alongside the Zambezi River, amidst the breathtaking and untouched wilds of the Lower Zambezi National Park.
This eco-conscious camp is solar powered and made with recycled materials. Lolebezi’s modest yet elegant, luxurious, and contemporary design beautifully mirrors the African bush’s simplicity, with the entire carefully planned layout of the lodge taking full advantage of most of the one kilometer of private river frontage.
The four signature suites and two double family suites all overlook the Zambezi River and are all equipped with indoor/outdoor showers, private plunge pools, air conditioning, private deck, mini-bar, mosquito nets as well as a private Lapa (semi-open outside area).
The Lower Zambezi National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers some of the best wildlife sightings in Africa. The wide array of activities offered at Lolebezi ensures that guests truly get to experience as much of the African bush as possible. From morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris (wildlife officers are armed when walking), bird watching, catch & release fishing, canoeing, boating and sunset cruises, cultural visits, spa, gym and even a specialised children’s club – there is something for everyone. In the evenings Lolebezi’s unique Open-Air cinema adds an unusual touch to the traditional African safari offering.

Lolebezi: The Details
The name Lolebezi is derived from a combination of the owners’ son’s name “Lole” and the “Zambezi” River, echoing the emphasis that is placed on family and the amazing experiences waiting to be shared.
True to its name Lolebezi does not disappoint. Waking up with the majestic Zambezi River flowing just in front of your room is indeed an exceptional experience! Lolebezi is suited for both romantic and family escapes (children of all ages are welcome). The Ngwana Club for children offers younger safari enthusiast nature walks around the camp, arts and crafts, cooking lessons and other specialist child activities.
The exceptional chefs at Lolebezi aim to spoil guests with a mixture of traditional African, European and Asian dishes.
The area is particularly famous for its leopard population and elephant herds, and is best experienced on foot with one of Lolebezi’s experienced guides. We highly recommend the unbeatable adventure of a guided game walk through the towering acacia forests in search of Africa’s renowned wildlife.
From Chirundu, Lolebezi can be accessed all year around (3 hour boat transfer to the lodge). From June to October guests can land at the Jeki Airstrip (2-hour flight from Livingstone International Airport or a 30-minute flight from Lusaka International Airport). Lolebezi lies a further 15-minute game drive transfer away from Jeki Airstrip. Alternatively, guests may land at the Royal Airstrip, which is accessible all year round (30-minute flight from Lusaka International Airport). After landing at the Royal Airstrip a 1.5-hour boat transfer takes guests to Lolebezi.
Lolebezi works closely with the surrounding communities in an attempt to uplift them and nurture self-sustainability in their villages. It is a special privilege to meet the locals during a visit to these villages, an excursion which can easily be arranged by the lodge’s helpful and friendly staff.
