Eagle Island Lodge

Eagle Island Lodge: Our View
Eagle Island Lodge is one of the three camps the Belmond Group(previously known as Orient-Express Hotels) offer in Botswana. The entire lodge has recently been refurbished.
As you enter Eagle Island Lodge you will immediately notice an attention to luxury and detail, built in what we call a ‘contemporary safari chic’ style. The main area flows naturally and offers panoramic views of the floodplains that surround this lodge. Like most camps in Botswana, Eagle Island Lodge is unfenced, and totally immersed in nature. The elegant, spacious, centralbuildings are slightly raised on a wooden platform and compriseof a bar, a lounge, a dining area, and a large terrace with a fire pit – all overlooking a nearby lagoon.
Come evening, cocktails can be enjoyed in the famous Fish Eagle Bar. This is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset! Private dinners can also be arranged at this romantic venue.
You will have timeto relax between the game viewing activities. The lodge has a huge (by safari standards!) swimming pool, a spa, and a curio shop. Massages can also be enjoyed in the comfort of your private deck. And if you want to stay in touch with the outside world, there is a TV lounge, and alibrary too.
The twelve, large, opulent tented rooms are raised on wooden platforms. Each room has a spacious private deck with a rim flow plunge pool - offering complete privacy and spectacular views! Glass sliding doors reveal a spacious room with a polished wooden floor, a desk (which can also be used for private dinner on your deck), a comfy corner for reading, and a big 4-poster style bed enclosed by by a mosquito net. There is an air-conditioning unit above the bed. The ‘modern safari chic’ furniture is gorgeous. Each room features a mini bar, an indoor shower, a walled outdoor shower with a window looking over the Delta, and a large indoor bathtub with walk-in wardrobe offering a luxury gown and slippers.
As is to be expected from a lodge of this standard, the food and service at Eagle Island Lodge is excellent. Breakfast is served buffet-style, while delicious lunches and dinners are plated meals, with various options to choose from. Meals are served at private separated tables, the products used are all fresh, and even ice-cream is available (a real treat in the bush!). The bar is fully stocked, from soft drinks, to vintage South African wines, to international spirits. Premium brands and imported champagnes are offered at anadditional cost
