Duba Plains Camp

Duba Plains Camp: Our View
Duba Plains is one of our favourite camps at the luxury end of the market in the Okavango Delta. A combination of spectacular scenery and game viewing, excellent guiding and service, as well as unique accommodation, make it a fantastic choice both for first time visitors and seasoned safari connoisseurs.
It has a reputation for being one of the best dry land game viewing camps in the Okavango Delta and the presence of large amounts of water in this area makes Duba Plains exceptionally scenic as well. Its location in a private concession in the remote northern part of the Delta ensures a true wilderness experience.
This area was made famous for the lion and buffalo interaction filmed in documentaries released by the owners Derek & Beverly Joubert. And even now this is still one of the best camps in Africa to see lions hunting in daylight. However, this is nature and nothing is guaranteed and we always say to clients that the chance to witness lions hunting should be seen as a bonus and not the sole reason to go there. Fortunately, it is not just about lions and buffaloes and the all-round game viewing and birding is superb!
The camp itself has an understated elegance and luxury that we personally love, as well as lots of individuality. Every tent come with a complete camera kit of the latest Canon 5D, 100-400mm and wide-angle lens, in addition to a pair of 8x42 binoculars for guest’s complimentary private use. Thisis one of the many extra touches not found in competitors camps. The service and guiding is also excellent, and with only five luxury tents it is very intimate.
Duba Plains is not cheap but it compares very favourably with other camps in this price bracket and offers a fantastic and exciting safari experience.
